悲しみに沈んでいる国へのメッセージ
きょう、何千もの人々がニューヨークに集まり、アメリカ合衆国に対する恐ろしい攻撃の犠牲者たちを追悼しています。
あの、口舌につくせないひどい虐殺行為によって、愛するものたちを失われたすべての方に、心からお悔やみを申し上げます。
しかし、一つ、皆さんにお聞きしたいことがあります。深呼吸をして、心を落ち着けて、亡くなられた人たちに対して、いったい何が最高の捧げものになるか、よく考えてみましょう。
長期に渡って、綿密に計画された標的に対する攻撃に騙されて、この米国市民に対する大量虐殺の真の黒幕達が見えなくなってしまわないでしょうか。それとも、しっかり目を見開いて、真にこの残虐行為を企てた、責任を問われる人達を特定して、この惨劇と、何世紀にも渡って世界を席巻している虐殺の背後にある力に、その邪悪な行為を二度と行えないようにさせられるでしょうか。
オスマ・ビン・ラディンとタリバンは、その手を血で塗らした、精神異常者と言ってもよいでしょう。ほんとうにひどい奴らです。しかし、彼らは、ある人達に使われて、問題をはぐらかせているのです。そして、恐怖を引き起こすように命令している真の黒幕たちから、我々の注意をそらせているのです。
彼らが言うがままに考え、言われるがままに彼らの行動を支持することによって、彼らの責任を問わず、再び同じようなことを行うことを許してしまうなら、そんなことがこの惨劇で命を落とした何千もの人達に対して、真の捧げものになるのでしょうか。

A MESSAGE TO A GRIEVING NATION

Today tens of thousands of people gather in New York to remember the victims of the appalling attacks on the United States of America.
We would like to add our love and condolences to all those who lost their loved ones in that terrible, terrible carnage.
But we would ask everyone to take a deep breath and ask themselves what would be the greatest tribute to their memory?
To allow ourselves to be conned into attacking long-planned and prearranged targets to smokescreen the real organisers of this mass murder of U.S. citizens?
Or to open our eyes and our minds and identify those truly responsible for masterminding such horror and thus ensure that the force behind tragedy and genocide across this world and across the centuries can wreak its evil no more?
Osama bin Laden and the Taliban are deeply disturbed people with much blood on their hands, but they are being used in this present situation to deflect questions and attention from those who really orchestrated these horrors from much closer to home.
What tribute would it be to the thousands who perished in this tragedy if we just go on thinking what we are told to think and supporting action we are told to support and therefore allow those truly responsible to escape exposure and do it again?
